Hours: This position will work primarily day and evening shifts and will be in the rotation for weekends and holidays. Day and Evening shifts are between 6:30am thru 9:30pm.


Description: As a Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) Pharmacy Technician at Central Maine Medical Center your responsibilities include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; opportunities to advance to sterile IV compounding, patient billing, and purchasing.


About the Facility: The Central Maine Healthcare  is an integrated healthcare delivery organization serving central and western Maine. CMH's acute care facilities include Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Bridgton Hospital, and Rumford Hospital. Other CMH affiliates provide various outpatient and clinical services and maintain residential care facilities. Management of the pharmacy is outsourced to CPS.

Main tasks include: 

  • Organizing the storage and safe environment for drugs and medications
  • Rotating stock, removing expired medications and performing other inventory control duties
  • Receiving and stocking supplies and confirm quantities against invoices
  • Delivering medications to the nursing units or patient rooms
  • Filling containers or bottles with the prescribed medications and prepackaging of medicines
  • Compounding medications – creams/ointments, and oral suspensions
  • Inspection of medication storage areas around the facility
  • Purchasing medicines from wholesalers and pharmaceutical companies
Required Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or GED Required
  • Licensed or have the ability to get licensed with the ME Board of Pharmacy
  • Pharmacy technician experience a plus but willing to train someone with applicable experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skill
