EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
Required: Graduate of a College or School of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
Maintains licensure in good standing as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of practice (MICHIGAN).
Preferred: Advanced degree in pharmacy or healthcare administration.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Required: Knowledge of clinical interventions, education, and equipment necessary to meet the specific needs of the patient population served by considering the patient's age, growth and development, medical condition, physical abilities, psychosocial status, potential language barriers, and level of comprehension; hospital and departmental policies and procedures, pharmaceutical terminology, unit dose system procedures, aseptic technique for preparing sterile dosage forms; and current developments in pharmacy to provide optimal pharmaceutical care. Skilled in preparing medications for administration to patients; analyzing drug therapies regarding patient condition, disease state, and concomitant therapies and making appropriate, drug-related recommendations to medical, nursing, and other health care staff; communicating verbally and in writing to patients, medical, nursing, and other staff members.
Preferred: Prior experience in hospital pharmacy management/supervision.
