POSITION:         Associate Director (FT) – Financial Aid

 

Effective immediately:   (FT) Associate Director in Wilmington University’s Financial Aid Office – New Castle Site.

Requirements:   A Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university and five or more years of progressively responsible experience in student financial aid/services is required. A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred. The incumbent should have considerable knowledge of policies, procedures and practices for administering financial aid programs. Excellent customer service skills; ability to work collaboratively; analytic ability to collect and interpret qualitative and statistical data for problem-solving and forecasting. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong computer skills, including experience with financial aid/student information systems (Banner experience preferred), as well as spreadsheet and word-processing applications. Must be detail-oriented and able to work with diverse populations. Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently. Knowledge of NSLDS, COD, FAA CPS Access and/or other Microsoft based Student Information Systems is required. Must have experience working with a student information systems, Banner preferred. The ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in any situation is a must.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Responsible for assisting the Director with the overall administration of aid programs and the management of the Financial Aid Office staff. Provide overall leadership and support to three Assistant Directors and all staff members within the Financial Aid Office. Works closely with director and Assistant Directors to identify and prioritize specific functions that need to be improved within the processing, service and reporting areas of financial aid. Researches, creates and implements plans to improve processes as needed. Maintains current knowledge of financial aid policies, regulations and trends. Create and monitor system queries to assist with the day-to-day operations of the office, federal, state and institutional aid processing. Provide overall financial aid system oversight and support to staff. Assists in completing audits and program reviews as they relate to financial aid programs. Assume responsibility for the Financial Aid Department in the Director's Absence. Work closely with the Director, IT and Institutional Research Departments to collect various financial aid data elements used for federal, state, and institutional reporting. Collaborate with all areas of Enrollment Management (including but not limited to: Bursar, Registrar, Academic Advising, and Admissions) to effectively deliver and facilitate customer service on various enrollment services and campus activities to students. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Financial Aid Director.

Hours of Employment:   Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, generally.  However, incumbent may be asked to be flexible with their hours and working shifts such as 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm; or other shifts necessary to meet the needs of the department.

Salary Range:   Commensurate with experience
