Position Description

The Finance & Operations Manager is a newly created role that will be based in one of Dalberg’s existing Africa offices. S/He will be an integral part of Dalberg 3D’s global management team and support the team in Finance and operations related tasks. International travel is estimated at 10%. The role holder is expected to spearhead and assist the management team in building up systems that will ensure effective and efficient operations for Dalberg 3D.

The role's responsibilities include:

Finance responsibilities

  • Lead operation teams to ensure statutory/fiscal compliance on all matters
  • Manage monthly financial close for 3D by project and for the different Implementation entities
  • Coordinate and ensure accurate and timely reporting as per required client formats
  • Prepare and present monthly management financial and operational reports.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of payments for Staff and suppliers across the 3D portfolio
  • Coordinate with management team for the follow up and collection of payment from all creditors
  • Support the planning and execution of annual financial audits and any other audits as may be required by country or partner regulations

Administrative responsibilities

  • Oversee operations roles in 3D in the different locations and build/develop systems that ensure efficient operations
  • Provide leadership and bring out the best in the operations team by supporting and tracking their professional development needs
  • Continuously perform organization-wide risk assessment to improve on compliance and systems improvements as the organization keeps on growing and evolving
  • Participate in management meetings and internal strategy sessions
  • Other tasks as required


  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Management or related field with at least 3 years managing a team
  • CPA (K) or its equivalent is preferred
  • Experience working at a consulting, law, or financial services firm or similar professional environment in a similar role is preferred
  • Excellent judgment with the ability to deftly manage sensitive and confidential situations
  • Experience in working with people from different cultures and different offices is desirable
  • Experience working in a rapid-paced, quickly growing entrepreneurial environment is preferred
  • Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, complex processes concurrently
  • Friendly, professional personality and demeanor
  • Interest in social impact and international development is a plus
  • Must be able to transact (read, write, speak) fluently in English. Ability to do the same in French is a significant plus.
