Jaguar Land Rover North America’s internship program is a great opportunity for college students entering their junior or senior year, or who are currently in a graduate school program, to gain hands-on experience in the exciting world of the automotive industry! Details of the program:
- The program is open only to students at a Junior or Senior level in their Bachelor’s Degree program, or who are enrolled in a Graduate School program.
- The Internship is for a full year, June 2019 to May 2020, and the successful intern must be able and willing to commit to the full length of the program.
- Intern is asked to work for 25-29 hours per week during business hours in the Mahwah, NJ office (Business hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, and the intern’s actual daily schedule will work around their class schedule).
Department: Port Operations & Vehicle Logistics
Location: Mahwah, New Jersey
Outline of Role:
Assist the Port Operations & Logistics Team in all facets of the operation in order to achieve monthly wholesale objectives and foster process improvements.
Marine Claims- JLRNA
Collect/ analyze/ tabulate claims data from port operations
Collect/ analyze/ tabulate Bills of Lading from Ocean Carrier
Collect/ analyze/ tabulate third party marine surveyors reports
Timely filing of monthly claims reports
Liaise with port managers regarding claims recovery statistics
- Pursue appeals with U.K. Distribution department
Special Moves – provide back up to the Logistics Coordinator
Arrange, manage, track, special moves and RAV (reacquired vehicles) requests that were submitted from JLR internal departments.
- Support JLR Regions & Rental Fleet with inter-regional moves to meet wholesale objectives as requested.
Daily Production Reports – provide back up to the Port Operations & Logistics Coordinator
As back up produce daily reporting files for use by Port Operations, Logistics & Distribution
Support process improvement for Port Installed Options and rollout of Defender Accessories
Key Criteria for Role:
Preferred degree of study in: Logistics & Supply Chain Management / Materials Management / Predictive Analytics / Information Technology Management
Must be proficient in Microsoft office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Experience with multiple Web Based applications i.e. Tableau Software / RapidMiner Software / Wrike
Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills and have a desire to learn more about corporate operations.
Bachelor’s Degree in progress (Junior or Senior), or pursuing a graduate studies degree during FY 19/20
3.0 GPA or higher
