Senior UX Designer

Main Responsibilities

  • Rapid iteration and development of concepts to craft user-centric designs that exceed ever-increasing standards in the automotive context.

  • Work with Researchers, Engineers and development partners to implement designs, in order to preserve the design intent, quality and usability.

  • Must be able to work on multiple projects with minimal direction

  • Subject Matter Expert with the ability to conduct thorough review of current state of the art ADAS competitive technologies and influence leadership with information needed for decision making around feature HMI

  • Mentor and guide team members in the spirit of continuous professional development

  • Scope projects and provide estimates and status in conjunction with a Project Manager

  • Create opportunities for continual improvements in the UX Design methods and tools

  • Encourage constructive debate within a project team, and set design direction based on members’ input

  • Understand customer needs and user requirements by consuming existing research and commissioning new studies

  • Design intuitive, highly usable graphical interfaces that surpass customer expectations, creating and enforcing UX processes

  • Communicate designs to colleagues and stakeholders to capture, prioritize and incorporate feedback

  • Collaborate with user testers to validate designs using qualitative and quantitative research techniques, including creation of and comparison to benchmarks. Recommend alternative methods and clearly define expected types of results

  • Contribute to and work within agile/continuous integration and improvement environment

  • Be well versed in Human factors and Ergonomics automotive standards for in-cabin design experiences and ensure alignment across teams

  • Create design patterns for interactions, color, typography and standards and expand learnings design systems with learnings

  • Understand and adhere to automotive-specific compliance requirements and automotive industry standards

  • Perform other duties as required

Key Criteria for the Role

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Work Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in visual design, human machine interaction, computer science, or related field.

  • Extensive experience in development of complex ADAS features with proven delivery

  • Direct experience producing ADAS feature and system level requirements

  • Mastery of User-Centered Design approaches for testing

  • Experience in experimental design and ability to design and conduct user tests as well as analyze and deliver data to senior management

  • Experience leading team projects and ability to work across functional teams in multiple E11geo locations and communicate effectively

  • Experience designing for touch-centric devices and developing for both mobile and desktop applications.

  • Experience designing and executing Visual Experience (VX) methods in delivery of end products that made it to market

  • Experience working with in-house and outsourced development teams

  • Professional Agile Development experience

  • Exhibit passion for emerging technologies, product design, and brand specification

  • Well organized and passionate, with strong analytical skills and great attention to detail

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills Desirable Experience

  • Industry recognition of end product delivered to market

  • Some experience with Legislative compliance with relevant HMI regulations and government compliance
