OVERVIEW

The EI Superintendent is accountable for safe execution and planning of maintenance activities for electrical department at the CBPP site.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead electrical department on journey to zero harm
  • Responsible for execution of asset management policies and practices
  • Minimize maintenance cost while maximizing the safety, performance and reliability of the assets
  • Develop and be accountable for the annual electrical maintenance budget.
  • Work with functional leaders and operating superintendents to develop, execute and improve on asset management plans.
  • Develop processes and build capability within the department to ensure the safety, adequacy and reliability of electrical systems.
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of plant process control equipment and power distribution systems.
  • Fulfill on-call responsibilities during week days, on a rotational basis with other EI Department staff.
  • Fulfill weekend coverage duties, on a rotational basis with other EI Department staff.
  • Continuous improvement around electrical and instrumentation equipment uptime and reliability.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Electrical Engineer with 5-10 years of experience in a maintenance or manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCSs), instrumentation (pneumatic control systems, etc. and AC/DC variable speed drives, power distribution systems and process controls used in the pulp and paper industry is a good asset.

  • Possess a good safety record.

  • Recent Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) training.

  • Valid Standard First Aid certification.

  • Electrical Safety Program experience

Successful candidate will be required to submit a Certificate of Conduct from a local police agency or the RCMP before commencing employment.
