The Analyst, Production Planning plans and monitors master production schedules across the production sites, maximizing machine utilization and on-time production of the sales orders. The incumbent is the liaison between the Customer Service Representative, the Transportation Coordinator and the mill production team, proposing alternatives/solutions when there are discrepancies between the planned schedule and mill production.

The Analyst, Production Planning is responsible for Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), maintaining inventory targets. They will analyze the customer’s consumption / withdrawals and determine the monthly order for said customer.

The Analyst, Production Planning is responsible in updating and maintaining KPI’s in relation to production planning and take action when needed to contribute to process improvement

The Analyst, Production Planning participates in special projects for optimization and continuous improvement

The Analyst, Production Planning reports to the Supervisor, Production Planning.



  • Prepare the pre-block schedule based on current order book, taking into account daily production capacity and customer forecast.
  • Acts as a resource person to the customer service and transportation team
  • Compare the production schedule with the mill running list on a daily basis to ensure accuracy and make modifications if required.
  • Manage customer inventory for assigned accounts (VMI).
  • Be pro-active in providing solutions to planning issues and customers’ requests by working closely with mills and Sales Reps.



  • Bachelor’s Degree (a Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management will be considered an asset)
  • 3 + years’ experience in a similar role
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Excel (Advanced or Expert level)
  • Experience in JD Edwards, Greycon, Trim Plus, Plan Plus and Cognos will be considered an asset
  • Superior analytical and learning skills
  • Strong ability to communicate and disseminate information
  • Capacity to make sound decisions
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, work with tight deadlines and work autonomously
  • Customer oriented and team player
  • Interest and potential to grow
  • Bilingual (French and English)
