POSITIONG SUMMARY

The position is responsible for ensuring that the department processes are conducted according to standard accounting practices and that proper financial controls in place in each operating area of the department.  The incumbent is also responsible for providing related financial and operational information to the different areas serviced by the department, namely the Publication/Specialty Paper division and the Containerboard mills of Kruger Packaging, in the objective of supporting business decisions. The position reports to the Credit and Sales accounting manager.

 

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Provides financial and operational information, data, KPI and reports, as well as analytical support, for “Order-To-Cash” processes, such as sales, freight, claims, and inventory management. This is being done by working in closely with the Group Controllers, Sales management and Sales administration management of the Publication/Specialty paper division and of Kruger Packaging and the Credit and sales accounting manager.

  • Provides visibility of profitability such as implementation of sales dashboard and monthly report, including Millnet, marginal contribution, EBITDA. Other analysis may include bad debt write off, over/under weight trends, etc.

  • Performs analysis and develops tools related the department processes and transactions to assist in business decision making processes (i.e. pricing, inventory, etc.)

  • Coordinates and assist in the preparation and validation of the annual and quarterly sales and transportations budgets, in collaboration with Group Controllers, Sales Management and Sales administration management. The incumbent also performs monthly reviews of actual to budget, identifying discrepancies, formulating recommendations and follow-up items.

  • Help optimize and automate the processes and system functions related to sales accounting. The position also supports the optimization of processes and of the other functionalities of the “Order-To-Cash” system, including system and reporting enhancements, to meet evolving transactional and business requirements of the serviced divisions (i.e. forecast, inventory reconciliation, risk, etc.)

  • Identify accounting issues and control weaknesses based on standard accounting practices and Company standards and propose new processes and controls to mitigate the risks.

  • Investigate data discrepancies issues, work to identify and correct the source and/or cause.

  • Oversees the payment process and monitors the reconciliation process of the custom duties

  • Collaborate with IT department for new projects and tools related to sales administration.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Management Accountant (CPA/CMA) with 3 to 5 years of experience in financial or managementaccounting, preferably in a similar role

  • Good business acumen and ability to grasp priority issues

  • Autonomy, initiative and leadership

  • Strong analytical and system skills and creativity

  • Ability to establish solid relationships and work in team with various stakeholders

  • Comfortable with a rapidly changing environment

  • Knowledge and experience of accounting systems and ERP systems (JD Edwards would be a key asset)

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, both in French and English
