Description

SUMMARY:  Greets restaurant guests with a positive friendly attitude.  Assures guests are seated in a timely manner assuring that they have a favorable dining experience.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Correctly and accurately rings in guests order at the register and ensures that appropriate discounts and comps are applied. 
  • Picks up staff bank as directed, maintains a consistent bank as assigned, makes correct deposits each shift with attention to detail on receipts.
  • Assigns wait staff to service guests where seated.
  • Answers phone, greets customers, and keeps track of seat availability in restaurant.
  • Assists wait staff.
  • Assists with bussing and resetting tables.
  • Cleans host area and entrance to buffet.
  • Follows GuestPath Universal Service Standards, Operational Service Standards, and SERVE expectations at all times.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner; report any potential safety hazards to management staff.
  • Perform any reasonable, temporarily assigned job duties outside the position’s job description, where, in the Company’s judgment, those duties are necessary in the interest of efficiency, productivity, or guest service.

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

  • Knowledge of buffet operations
  • Maintains interpersonal working relationship among all personnel
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and handle high-pressure situations in an interruptive environment
  • Must be able to stand for 6-8 hour shifts

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school Diploma or GED equivalent
  • One-year minimum restaurant experience preferred
  • Must be able to complete any classes or certifications required

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Associate must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. All associates are under surveillance (and audio surveillance in limited areas).  Performance may be observed and recorded.
