Due to the success of our genomic tests and our product pipeline, Veracyte is hiring an additional team member for our CLIA Molecular Lab. The Lab Assistant - Accessioner will perform routine specimen accessioning in accordance with established protocols. The position will process specimens upon receipt in the lab. Additional responsibilities include all related clerical functions, lab maintenance and regulatory compliance tasks. You'll work alongside a highly engaged team of Lab Assistants and Clinical Lab Scientists and will collaborate with other groups across Veracyte. You'll have the opportunity for ongoing training, competency assessments and sharing ideas for continuous improvement in the lab. The work schedule is Tuesday - Saturday.
- Accessioning clinical specimens upon receipt. Data entry into LIS system.
- Specimen verification, labeling, tracking, and all related clerical functions. Work cross-functionally with Client Service regarding specimen issues.
- General accessioning clean-up tasks, e.g. break down shipping boxes, disinfect accessioning counters, sweep and put away supplies.
- Performing all laboratory activities in accordance with the Quality Assurance Program
- Engaging in training and competency assessments.
- Participating in continuous improvement activities/projects.
Who You Are:
You have a two or four year degree in the life sciences and at least one year of previous work experience (laboratory or non-laboratory) while attending school or after graduation. Accessioning experience in a lab is preferred. You have demonstrated the ability to problem solve and proactively collaborate with peers. In previous roles you were known for your high attention to detail and dedication to customers and/or patients. You are seeking a role where you can contribute at your highest level, learn from peers, and be a part of new emerging technologies that improve patient outcomes. Candidates must be able to work from 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
