About You

Agriculture is a key practice area at Dalberg Advisors and over the years, we’ve carried out several hundred strategic engagements across the world.

The Asia Agriculture Practice Area KM Snr. Associate’s role sits at the intersection of research, knowledge management, communications and outreach and specifically includes the following:

1. Knowledge Management

  • Manage existing knowledge assets within firm and making them useful and usable by Dalberg consulting teams working in the respective practice areas.  
  • Prepare and update Practice Area folders with all information relevant to the practice area. This will include create datasets of useful statistics and keeping them updated, ensuring that all related project deliverables are tagged and readily available in thematic folders, creating the practice area primer, finding interesting reports etc.
  • Answer to requests from partners/consultants on thematically related topics and initiatives.

2. Knowledge Creation

  • Harvest knowledge based on Dalberg’s past work in the respective sector, and present them in interesting formats ranging from typical consulting powerpoints, thought leadership pieces, infographics (working with the design team), thematic websites. 
  • Use innovative communication tools (thought leadership pieces, infographics, websites, videos, podcasts) to share the work done on projects.
  • Liaise with organisations (media houses, foundations, public and private organisations) to co-create and collaborate on events.

3. Knowledge Advocacy

  • Create concept notes and proposals that help drive greater innovation and impact within the practice area in Asia and Africa and keep Dalberg ahead of the curve in the space
  • Support business development processes and projects with expert input and skills.
  • Represent Dalberg at various events related to the practice area.
  • Coordinating Practice Area Collaborations – through calls between partners and co-creating concept notes and projects

4. Knowledge Dissemination/Communications

  • Internal dissemination:  through Practice Area newsletters, hosting monthly practice area calls with global consultants across Dalberg, and catalyzing interest in the practice globally, creating resource material for consultants, liaising with the global communications team at Dalberg
  • External Dissemination:  external newsletter, hosting brown-bag talks, community level engagement through events and periodic interactions for the practice in Delhi, engaging journalists and providing thought leadership content to mass media and social media, being responsible for the practice social media presence on platforms such as Twitter. 

5. Supporting Consulting Projects

Working with project teams:  Work with project teams to gain content expertise and help teams with their research. Conduct independent mini-research projects to create new knowledge within the practice. This can include conducting interviews with experts globally, to launching mini-surveys, create thought leadership pieces, collaborations and data around the same.

 

What You Will Do and How You Will Grow

For the practice area Sr. associate role in Asia, we are looking at driven and entrepreneurial individuals who are driven to create positive social impact through their work and lives, have experience within the domain, fantastic research skills, excellent oral and written communication, and deep familiarity with social media and new media channels. We are also looking for individuals who can demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, those who can take charge and ownership of their work and professional development.

Specific skills and backgrounds that we are looking for:

  • An undergraduate or a graduate degree in a relevant field from a top university globally / in India.
  • At least 2 years of total work experience with at least 1 year of experience in the agriculture and food ecosystem in India
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Top notch research skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Deep experience with leveraging social media
  • Experience with social media (twitter, Facebook, Mailchimp, Buffer, Tweetbot, Wordpress etc)
  • Experience and networks in thematic journalism will be an added plus
