Tax Manager

Your Role

We are seeking a Tax Manager to be the first point of contact for all tax matters within the Europe and Middle East regions, which currently include offices in London, Birmingham, Munich, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Doha. The position will be based in London and you will report to our Global Tax Director, who is located in San Francisco and the European Regional Finance Director, based in London.  

The ideal candidate will be an early to mid-career qualified professional who has spent time in both industry and practice.  You will have global tax experience, strong technical skills, good judgment and an ability to research tax issues. You will proactively support business leaders in the delivery of cross border projects within the EMEA region. You will work smarter by partnering with our regional accounting and global tax teams to streamline and automate our tax processes and systems, and look for opportunities to be both innovative and compliant. 

What You Will Do

  • Provide proactive tax advice to the regions in all areas of taxation in conjunction with the global tax team
  • Advise on tax compliance for all branches and legal entities,  including income taxes, VAT/GST, stamp, import/export, property taxes, tax incentives, and transfer pricing documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate with the global accounting team and external accounting firm to prepare the corporate income tax calculations for the annual UK financial statement review and corporate income tax return
  • Prepare returns and supporting documentation in partnership with the regional accounting teams and external vendors
  • Manage tax audits for the Europe and Middle East regions;  develop and maintain relationships with tax authorities and external tax advisors as appropriate
  • Assist the global tax team and external tax advisors on global income tax planning,  structuring initiatives and the development and implementation of tax policies,  procedures, and internal controls
  • Perform tax risk assessments for all current and future countries where we operate in EMEA

Your Qualifications

  • Prior experience operating within multiple countries within the EMEA region and specifically with UK and EU VAT/GST
  • Mix of public accounting and industry experience (minimum 5 years')
  • Corporate tax experience
  • Experience in Architectural/Engineering/Construction or professional services industry would be an advantage
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with individuals at all levels internally as well as outside of the firm in various countries and cultures
  • Strong customer service orientation, a team player with the ability to establish collaborative working relationships
  • Ability to remain flexible and compromise in the face of change in a growing environment
