SUMMARY:

The Project Coordinator’s key responsibilities will be to oversee the day-to-day execution of strategic place-based initiatives, including working with internal and external stakeholders on the planning and execution of such initiatives.  Incumbent will work with MBA staff and stakeholders to develop goals, metrics, and milestones for key initiatives.  Incumbent will coordinate internal and external meetings for the SVP and the affordable housing team, including staff involvement in external events.  In concert with MBA’s public affairs team, the incumbent will manage the day-to-day communications function for MBA’s affordable housing efforts to ensure that MBA senior staff, members, and external stakeholders are informed of affordable housing developments, including key MBA efforts and initiatives.  Incumbent will oversee the web page for “Convergence” (MBA’s affordable housing initiatives).  Incumbent will also undertake special projects on an ad hoc basis, as well as assist with certain logistical and administrative duties. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the budget for MBA’s affordable housing initiatives (AHI).
  • Oversees day-to-day execution of strategic place-based initiatives, including working with MBA staff on the planning and execution of key MBA efforts.  Works with MBA staff and external stakeholders to develop goals, metrics, and milestones for key initiatives.
  • Coordinates internal and external meetings for the SVP and AHI team.
  • Helps coordinate and manage AHI staff involvement in external events.
  • Manages the day-to-day communications function, in concert with MBA’s public affairs team, to ensure that MBA senior staff, members, and external stakeholders are informed of affordable housing developments and key MBA efforts and initiatives.
  • Oversees content for MBA’s AHI web page “Convergence,” ensuring that information is accurate and current.
  • Working with MBA’s public affairs team, helps implement a social media strategy aimed at highlighting MBA’s work on affordable housing.
  • Works with the AHI team and other MBA staff on the planning and execution of webinars, MBA Now videos, and other communication efforts related to affordable housing.
  • Coordinates with MBA staff and external experts on the planning and execution of education and training initiatives related to affordable housing.
  • Works with MBA staff to help coordinate/aggregate/highlight research on affordable housing.
  • Acts as an administrative back up to the Policy & Program Specials role as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist staff in the preparation for conferences/briefings. 
  • Respond to routine inquiries regarding information on policy issues.

SPECIFICATIONS:

Highly organized and detail oriented.  Excellent computer and communication skills.  Strong familiarity with social media tools and techniques.  Ability to simultaneously manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.  Ability to work cooperatively with diverse internal and external stakeholders. Three or more year of related work experience required.  General knowledge of affordable housing issues and stakeholders highly desirable.  College degree required.  Advanced degree desired.
