SUMMARY:

This individual is responsible for assisting with the development and management of products for the Mortgage Industry Standards Organization (MISMO).  MISMO is the standards organization for the mortgage industry. MISMO is a 501(C)(6) subsidiary of the MBA. He/she will be accountable to the AVP of Product Development.  He/she will have responsibility for ensuring that new products are developed in a standardized and timely manner. He/she should have broad Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) skills and an understanding of mortgage origination and servicing practices.

This individual will have experience working in a product development team, along with a blend of business, data and technology expertise.  The individual must also be able to provide guidance to individuals working at many companies across the entire mortgage industry.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate requests for new MISMO initiatives
    • Work with requestor to clearly document the business reasons for the request and the resources necessary to execute on the request
    • Facilitate moving the request through the necessary MISMO approval processes
    • Assist with efforts to identify and onboard project leaders and help kickoff initiative efforts
    • Ensure all supporting documentation is completed in a consistent manner
  • Track status of all ongoing MISMO initiatives
    • Track and report on status of all initiatives
    • Identify roadblocks and facilitate solutions
    • Maintain a continually evolving list of product ideas
  • Support Leaders of MISMO Initiatives
    • Provide support to project leaders as necessary
    • Identify and onboard necessary resources
    • Escalate issues to appropriate MISMO leadership
  • Facilitate Delivery/Execution of Initiatives
    • Ensure that viable plans to facilitate adoption of products are developed
    • Ensure that necessary communications and marketing plans are developed, coordinated, and executed
    • Ensure that decisions, work products and other supporting materials for each initiative are properly documented

 

SPECIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience with product development and management
  • A blend of business, data and technology experience
  • Experience interfacing with all levels of an organization
  • Experience in the mortgage industry or related industry technology
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments
  • Undergraduate degree combined with 5 plus years of related experience.  Relevant graduate degree may be used to offset some of the direct work experience requirements.
