Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, West Coast Marine, a division of Tidewater Environmental Services, offers a range of services including industrial cleaning, hazardous and non-hazardous waste transportation, wet/dry vacuum services, tank cleaning, and ship cargo hold cleaning throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and parts of California. We are currently seeking a hands-on Operations Site Supervisor to be responsible for the day-to-day operation of job sites, including safety and health performance, regulatory performance and customer satisfaction.
Responsible for knowing and abiding by safety management system policies and procedures.
Leads, evaluates, coaches and develops personnel to become highly effective and efficient at their job responsibilities, including performing corrective or disciplinary action as necessary.
Plans, schedules, assigns tasks, and supervises the activities of the drivers and laborers in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
Works with Dispatch to coordinate trucks and equipment necessary to perform the job.
Serves as job site safety officer. Leads daily safety meetings at job sites to review job scope and safety requirements.Identifies and corrects hazards in support of incident free operations. Promptly reports any accidents/incidents to management.
Delivers consistent and high quality work utilizing industry standard methodologies and materials. Ensures job site tools and equipment are maintained and safeguarded.
Operates and maintains water blasters and other equipment to perform marine and industrial cleaning services.
Conducts quality control inspections.
Performs job walks to determine job feasibility and provides estimates for business contracts.
Manages over water transfers.
May operate Company boats to perform containment boom deployment and on-the-water spill cleanup operations.
Operates all company vehicles.
Maintains and builds relationships with customers.Proactively addresses customer service issues and ensures a successful resolution.
Approves and submits timesheets on a daily basis.
Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum five years’ of increasingly responsible experience leading and/or managing marine and industrial cleaning job sites.
Knowledgeable of all company equipment, including vacuum trucks, roll on and roll off equipment, water crafts and hydro blast pumps, etc.
Communication skills necessary to guide and direct others, influence change, resolve conflict, and interact with customers and personnel at all levels of the organization. Ability to deal with others using courtesy, tact, and good judgment.
Demonstrated ability to manage, coach, direct, train and measure performance of West Coast Marine assigned staff.
Ability to optimally manage time and resources to achieve stated goals and objectives for this position with minimal or no guidance.
Ability to work up to 14 hours per day on an on-call basis to include nights, weekends, and holidays (work is performed seven days a week, 24 hours per day as required by our customers).
Ability to travel to out-of-town job sites as required to include overnight stays.
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive communications.
Completion of OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER & eight hour HAZWOPER Site Supervisor training.
Must be certified as Shipyard Competent Person, Man lift Operator, and Forklift Operator. Requires certifications in First Aid/CPR, DOT health card and able to wear a respirator.
Must maintain a current, valid driver’s license in order to operate company owned vehicles.
Must maintain a current TWIC card in accordance with Department of Homeland Security requirements.
Must be able to work in confined spaces and at various heights (up to 60 feet).
Certain duties may require a boat operator safety certificate.
Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) with HAZMAT endorsement preferred.
Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) required for job site location, which may include ear plugs, protective eyewear, goggles, life vest, face shield, crush resistant footwear and hard hat.
Ability to work in various work conditions and temperatures.
Ability to read, write, verbalize and comprehend instructions and correspondence in the English language. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other team members.
Must have basic mathematical skills equivalent to those obtained through high school diploma or equivalent.

Requires frequent lifting up to 40 pounds and up to 90 pounds on occasion (maneuver hoses, pumps, and valves).
This position is primarily performed at job sites. May be exposed to loud operating machinery, inclement weather conditions, working around water, slip/fall hazards, electrical and mechanical hazards, foreign body hazards, chemicals, vapors, dust, fumes in shop and field environments.
