The Transit Authority of River City (TARC) is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Transit Scheduler in our Planning Department. This position is responsible for a wide variety of tasks and duties related to scheduling of TARC service and routes. Responsibilities include: service planning and scheduling, developing bus routes, analysis and recommendations for service improvements, and coordination of internal and external scheduling efforts and tasks.
Responsible for fixed routes planning and scheduling using Trapeze software products. Service implementation, schedule adjustments, new transit routes, and operator sign-ups are also part of Transit Scheduler responsibilities. Ensuring that TARC routes, schedule changes and run requirements comply with internal TARC policies, applicable federal regulations, and union contract policies, while meeting TARC’s customers’ needs.
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four (4) years of work experience in transit scheduling, planning and/or operations, or a related field. Must have excellent communications skills, oral and written, strong analytical skills, and understanding of service cost and budget impacts. Experience using Trapeze scheduling software is required, including excellent organizational, administrative and computer skills. A valid driver's license is required.
A combination of education, experience and training may be substituted when competency in the position is demonstrated.
