Transit Scheduling Coordinator

The Transit Authority of River City (TARC) is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Transit Scheduling Coordinator in our Planning Department.  This position is responsible for a wide variety of tasks and duties related to scheduling of TARC service and routes.  Responsibilities include planning and scheduling for new service or existing service adjustments. 

Responsibilities include coordination between routes planning and schedul ing , and service implementation, to ensure cost efficiency and service reliability.  Provide support for scheduling, develop new routes, analyze and recommend improvements in routes and schedules, and coordinate internal and external scheduling efforts and needs.  Assists with developing operators work assignments, produces internal schedules (headway sheets), operator run cards, post schedules,  and route descriptions.  Generates various trapeze reports and assist with service cost estimates, financial data, and statistics. Will be responsible for planning and scheduling using Trapeze software products and operator sign-ups.  Ensuring that TARC routes, schedule changes and run requirements comply with internal TARC policies, applicable federal regulations, and union contract policies, while meeting TARC’s customers’ needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Planning or transportation related field and a minimum of three (3) years of work experience in public transit, scheduling, transit planning, operations or a related field.  Must have excellent communications skills, oral and written, strong analytical skills, and understanding of service cost and budget impacts.  Experience using Trapeze scheduling software and GIS is required. Must also have excellent computer skills including excel, adobe and graphic design software.  

A combination of education, experience and training may be substituted when competency in the position is demonstrated.

 

Starting annual salary approximately  $55,000-$65,000.
