To address our continued growth, we have a unique opportunity for a Transportation Permitting Project Manager to join our Land Development team.  Required experience includes traffic/transportation impact studies, traffic data collection, traffic operations analysis and calibration, parking studies, bicycle and pedestrian facility evaluations, cutting edge transportation demand management measures, transportation conceptual planning and site design assistance, and report production.  Must possess an understanding of the development permitting processes of MEPA and municipalities, especially the City of Boston. 

The responsibilities of a qualified candidate include directing and mentoring mentor junior staff, overseeing technical analysis tasks, maintaining client communication, collaborating with project team members, preparing deliverables, ensuring quality control, adhering to project schedules and budgets, coordinating with public agency staff, and presenting to stakeholder/community groups.  Other key duties include writing proposals and developing budget estimates for new projects, and participating in professional organizations and fostering business development opportunities.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 5-10 years’ experience required
  • Experience with Synchro traffic analysis software (Vissim a plus)
  • Experience with AutoCAD strongly preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work in team environment as an individual contributor, and enjoy learning
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking, judgment and experience to define, analyze and resolve problems and issues
