King’s Hawaiian is a 70 year old company with strong brand heritage, we are still in the early stages of fully developing our creative style. Within the last six years, we have begun developing a brand voice, with a visual look and feel that has worked well for the brand thus far. In conjunction with our original external agency partner, we created strong creative assets across TV (including a Super Bowl Ad), print, digital and more, which in turn have doubled our sales over this short six year time period. Our goal is to continue taking steps toward evolving our creative deliverables to make them even more effective and fun. To do that, we have brought on a new external creative agency to work strategically with us on broad creative development on our major campaigns. We are looking to pair this new external agency with a talented internal creative individual (this role that we are recruiting for) that can augment the agency work with additional creative (primarily digital and ecom). The majority of this work should be done in house by this individual, but some work may also be sourced from external resources (freelancers), which this individual will source/manage. The Senior Art Designer will also take on the role of being the brand creative steward and provide input across all creative as to its brand fit.
•Understand and leverage (and in some cases help augment) overall brand creative design so that it can be applied to various creative assets.
•Design, maintain, and execute branded content for digital and social media.
•Drive creative direction for ecommerce assets, both on the website and in the form of consumer demand generating materials.
•Create additional assets as needed for other departments within the company.
•Execute projects from concept to final delivery, including all versioning, resizing, etc.
•Identify and cultivate external freelance creative resources as the means to deliver some creative assets (when needed).
•Be the brand steward, ensuring that all collateral is on brand no matter where it is placed.
•Manage assets within a Data Asset Management system.
Expected outcomes for reviews:
•Delivery of creative assets on time as needed.
•Injecting of creativity into design work in a way that motivates our consumers.
•Ability to coordinate seamlessly with internal teams.
•Ability to source and work with external freelance talent effectively and maintain the high-quality standard of King’s Hawaiian creative content (when needed).
•Minimum 5 years of design experience.
•Understands and demonstrates the fundamentals of graphic design as it applies to brand, layout, and digital graphic production.
•Knowledge of current design innovations and best practices.
•Command of design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc)
•Experience designing for digital platforms /digital marketing initiatives.
•Exceptional design aesthetic, graphic design & typography skills.
•Ability to execute a high volume of high-quality work at a very fast pace; excellent time management and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and quickly execute.
•Team player that can get along with a range of personalities.
•Impeccable communication skills.
•Connections to high caliber freelance talent preferred.
•Bachelor’s degree preferred.
