Position Overview

The Epic Clinical Manager leads the team responsible for the maintenance of the advanced EpicCare platform within the OCHIN collaborative. This work entails managing projects to a budget, managing issues and risks, ensuring high quality deployment, stabilization following install. The Epic Clinical Manager will continually assess and make improvements to the system and to the processes to improve efficiency while judiciously managing the resources of OCHIN and our Members (Service Areas) to continually improve the quality of processes, the information system and outcomes to our Members.

Additionally, this person will serve as primary liaison with the OCHIN Clinical Informatics team to ensure clinical best practices are implemented and reduce the potential for patient risk.  This may include process design and improvement so that barriers to executing clinical changes and improvements are removed but appropriate clinical oversight occurs in a predictable and reliable way.

Management Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, develop and define positive outcomes for a team of Epic Clinical Analysts to ensure the Epic Clinical Application is appropriately maintained, meeting both organizational and member needs
  • Ensure that new staff are on-boarded in a methodical measured manner that prepares them for success
  • Assess and develop skills and Individual Development Plans (IDPs) of staff
  • Track and measure department, project, and individual performance goals
  • Providing leadership, coordination and management of processes and functions for Clinical Maintenance
  • Identifying potential opportunities for process and quality improvement within OCHIN
  • Support Wisdom maintenance and continue to improve both maintenance & install process with both legacy and new members.
  • Manage the clinical wing of the Member Care Team and improve overall support of members through coordination with other MCT Managers, ensuring that all sides of support are aligned and providing the best service.
  • Ensuring that team processes are represented on the OCHIN System Map
  • Maintaining and reinforcing communication and linkages between the Epic Clinical Team and other relevant OCHIN Departments
  • Work with team supervisors to resource and allocate staff for special projects and go live support
  • Reviewing ticket metrics and ensure team is delivering on SLAs and staying current with assignments
  • Intervene and resolve escalations with members as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar or relevant role. 
  • A keen sense of excellent customer service and how to deliver it effectively in all situations, including those most challenging
  • Strong leadership skills, in support of the organization’s needs
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8 Years of applicable experience.
  • Proficiency in Access
  • Epic Certification(s) in the following: EpicCare, MyChart, Welcome, Prelude, Cadence, Resolute

Work Location

  • This position will work remotely
  • Travel may be required based on business requirements for OCHIN Go-Live events, 1-2 trips per year
