Position Overview

The General Ledger Accountant performs a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions with significant focus on General Ledger accounting. This position is also responsible for supporting the Controller in conducting key activities such as Month-End Close, creating and updating reports and A/P disbursements. This position will be responsible for managing all aspects of fixed asset inventory as well as retiring of those fixed assets.

The General Ledger Accountant must have a high attention to detail, be able to work in a fast-paced work environment, be prepared to take on new responsibilities to support the organization and have a proven track record of driving process improvement. The position also requires strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain personal rapport with internal and external members and stakeholders.

This position is a temporary position, upwards of 6 months, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position.

Outcomes for Success

The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for:

  • Month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing
  • Fixed asset inventory and retirement of assets
  • Quarterly balance sheet and P & L Fluctuation Analysis
  • Monthly expense variance analysis
  • Consolidation, inter-company transactions and reconciliations
  • Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies
  • Manage Fixed Assets
  • Balance sheet accounts reconciliations
  • Interface with management in various departments, including engineering, sales operations, IT and legal.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Strong technical accounting background.
  • At least five years general ledger accounting experience is required
  • Strong Excel and database skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Access experience
  • Experience with SAGE accounting software

Work Location

  • This position will be located in our Corporate Office in Portland, OR
