Material Coordinator

Job Responsibilities

  • Loads and unloads material within a warehouse/storage facility.
  • Receives, unpacks, checks, and stores equipment and materials.
  • Packs, crates, and ships equipment and materials to facilities or project locations.
  • Utilizes hand trucks or other handling equipment to move material to and from service vehicles or utility trailers and within the storage facility.
  • Fills requisitions and orders.
  • Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Works under general supervision; reports to a Department Manager.
  • Position located in Lake Charles, LA

Required Education/Experience

  • Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with internal and external clients and vendors.
  • Basic math, organization and computer skills.
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to do repetitive bending, twisting, squatting, walking, pushing, pulling and hand motions.
  • Ability to walk/stand for full shift.
  • This position requires the heavy work involving lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Desired Education/Experience

  • Prefer a high school diploma or its equivalent with 5-10 years of materials handling experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in material handling and warehouse work.
