SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the design and delivery of a variety of training courses and/or other interventions for Urban One employees. Involves creating and delivering training solutions for continuous improvement in individual, team, business unit and organizational performance. Specific duties include preparation and facilitation of training courses both live and on-line to include the design of instructional materials and participant materials. Responsible for performing miscellaneous duties related to training and development.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. Provide technical and/or logistical support to users of Training One the Company’s online learning website (powered by ThinkZoom).
  2. Partner with the Learning and Development Director to provide specific online training courses to help employees maintain or improve job skills.
  3. Coordinate logistics for training and mentor programs to include scheduling of food, rooms, travel, and hotel accommodations.
  4. Partner with Learning and Development Director to develop content material for customized training initiatives.
  5. Present information using a variety of instructional techniques, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, or lectures.
  6. Travel to various markets/locations to facilitate a variety of employee trainings such as Effective Communication, Time Management, and other compliance trainings as assigned.
  7. Coordinate production and copying of training materials for in-house courses as appropriate. Amend and revise materials as necessary, in order to adapt to changes that occur.
  8. Maintain training records, training budget and evaluations.
  9. Manage vendor relationships.
  10. Manage the monthly training calendar.
  11. Coordinate and book travel and hotel room for Learning and Development Director.
  12. Remain current on developments in training and instructional methodologies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Must be an exceptional communicator
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative environment
  • Strong presentation skills required
  • 2-4 years prior experience in training development and content delivery required
  • Degree in Instructional Design, Organization Development, or related field preferred
  • Learning Management System or online learning experience preferred
  • Understanding of adult learning theory required
  • Must be proactive and able to work independently, plan ahead, push projects forward and meet deadlines

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.  Ability to conduct analysis of set of numbers given in order to identify errors and develop solutions.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires the incumbent to travel approximately 30% of the time.
