National Sales Coordinator

Location: NY - New York - Radio



Position: Corporate National Sales Coordinator                    Reports To:   SVP of National & Network Sales

Location: New York City                                                            Department:  Sales

FLSA:       Non-Exempt                                              


Mandate:  To competently* and professionally* assist and support the Senior Vice President of National & Network Sales and various team members in the National Sales Department, where relevant and as needed, to meet the expressed goals of the department in achieving and managing the needs of existing and potential clients. This will be done while staying within the negotiated job responsibilities at all times.

Objectives (by Responsibility)

Sales Coordination

  1. To assist, support and coordinate the ongoing needs of the SVP, National & Network Sales as well as the members of the National Sales Department.  This includes :
  • Understand sales terms and functions.
  • Enter and monitor corporate sales and national orders.
  • Create and implement on-air radio schedules.
  • Help create, revise, and adjust presentations, sales kits and recaps.
  • Assist with execution of sales related promotions and contests
  • Manage National Sales Reports on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide clerical support including filing of contracts.
  • Maintain client lists and other client data

Interdepartmental Liaison

  1. To ensure effective interdepartmental communication occurs on an ongoing basis and that all relevant information is submitted to all relevant parties and departments within the requested and negotiated timelines on an ongoing basis.  This includes:
  • Sales
  • Traffic Department
  • Digital, Promotion, Production and Programming requests
  • Management


  1. To perform within the relevant department and interdepartmental policies and procedures on an ongoing basis.
  2. Schedule travel arrangements as needed.
  3. Prepare expense reports
  4. To ensure that all relevant paperwork as it applies to the overall job responsibility is submitted within the negotiated and requested timelines at all times.  This includes:
  • All the paperwork required by Sales and Sales Management
  • All the paperwork required by the Accounting and Traffic Departments

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree preferred; minimum three years of experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel. Must have reasonable knowledge of and experience with PowerPoint.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, listeners, and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills and Abilities

Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to interact effectively with the public. Highly organized, computer proficient and able to use standard office equipment (i.e., computer, copier and fax machine).
