Summary of Position

This is a meaningful, mutually beneficial program where students will bring innovation and drive that will help us reach our goals. In turn, our highly-skilled Amicus team will help students apply what they already know and broaden their knowledge base.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship that will run from May 18, 2020 until August 14, 2020. For best consideration, candidates should apply by no later than February 9, 2020.

The Accounting and Reporting Intern will be focused on corporate financial reporting and technical accounting and will work closely with several team members in the Global Finance organization. This role will provide an opportunity to build relevant skills in a variety of accounting functions including SEC reporting. The Accounting and Reporting Intern will also gain exposure to and experience in a major ERP implementation project.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Accounting and Reporting Intern is responsible for:

  • Assisting with the compilations of the quarter-end financial reporting for SEC reporting purposes (i.e Form 10-Q)
  • Helping with specified analysis on transactions such as leases
  • Assisting with the preparation of ad hoc and other internal reports
  • Participating in the implementation of the SAP S-4/HANA ERP system through exposure to project meetings and assistance with various phases of the project such as master data and testing
  • Working on other adhoc projects as assigned

Developmental, Experiential & Educational Value (for Summer Intern):

  • The Accounting and Reporting Intern will gain experience:
  • Working with a global accounting organization and participating in the compilation of quarterly SEC financial reporting documents for a public company
  • Building technical knowledge and applying accounting coursework through on-the-job training and responsibilities
  • Participating in a transformational ERP implementation project, including sitting in on project meetings and working sessions and participating in user acceptance testing

Qualifications and Background Requirements

  • Must be a current student to apply
  • Student working towards a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting or related degree
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong communication, influencing and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Team oriented with excellent communication skills
