Level Up @ Amicus is our Summer Internship Program, created to give students an opportunity for experiential learning in a corporate environment. This is a meaningful, mutually beneficial program where students will bring innovation and drive that will help us reach our goals. In turn, our highly-skilled Amicus team will help students apply what they already know, and broaden their knowledge base.
This is a full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship that will run from May 18, 2020 until August 14, 2020. For best consideration, candidates should apply by no later than February 9, 2020.
The Global Talent & Learning Intern will have the opportunity to gain excellent experience working in one or more of our talent management specialty areas (e.g., organization effectiveness, learning and leadership development, and diversity & inclusion). In those domains, the Intern will assess needs, provide consulting and support, and develop solutions for Amicus Therapeutics on a global level. We are also dedicated to providing a highly developmental experience for the Intern, so although some projects may be assigned, the Intern will have flexibility to choose additional projects to further his/her own path of learning and growth. We also seek to provide opportunities to learn in other ways, such as exposure to leaders, structured developmental feedback, and experience with other areas of the organization.
Roles and Responsibilities
This role will be responsible for completing projects that focus on strategic business needs related to talent management and learning. In these projects, the Intern will be encouraged to partner with leaders across groups, teams, and functional areas; demonstrate in-depth understanding of talent practices; excellent partnership skills; and outstanding, proactive project management skills.
Potential projects will include:
Continuing to embed our newly launched Mission-Focused Behaviors in all talent processes and programs.
Reimagining our Performance Management Process, including goal setting (objectives and key results), ongoing feedback and coaching, promotion criteria and guidelines and year-end reviews.
Helping to develop our talent review, assessment, development guides and succession planning processes.
Providing input to the implementation of the talent modules of our new Human Capital Management System.
Developmental, Experiential & Educational Value (for Summer Intern):
Overall experience in talent management specialty areas, including organization effectiveness, learning, leadership development, and diversity & inclusion.
Ability to conduct needs assessments and analyses, consultative skills and solution design relative to talent.
Exposure to HR, Business Leaders and key stakeholders of the Talent Organization, who will provide structured developmental feedback and experience.
Greater understanding of how behaviors, performance management, development plans, succession, and technology drive the culture of an enterprise.
Qualifications and Background Requirements
Must be a current student to apply
Currently enrolled in a bachelor or master’s level program in Industrial/-Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, or other HR-related discipline with an expected graduation date between May-December 2021
Clear understanding of talent management including the employee lifecycle (e.g., assessment, development, performance management, succession planning)
Outstanding communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills
Skill in working both collaboratively and independently
Experience translating technical Industrial/Organizational and HR challenges into practical solutions
Strong analytic problem-solving skills
Statistical experience and expertise analyzing and drawing conclusions from people data
Ability to live the “scientist-practitioner” model, balancing science with practicality
Proactive project management skills;
Ability to drive progress and make decisions
Ability to set priorities and manage a variety of tasks in a complex and sometimes ambiguous environment
This position will be based in Cranbury, NJ, or Philadelphia, PA, or as indicated in the Employment Contract.
