At CoBank, the Vice President, Lease Operations serves as member of the Operations Division leadership team. Leads a group of teams that perform lease operations functions in support of CoBank’s Farm Credit Leasing business line (FCL), including lease documentation, closing, booking, funding and post-booking management. Responsible for aligning the activities of Lease Operations with key strategic priorities of the business and the bank. Leads and develops staff to grow individual skills and increase departmental capabilities. Works closely with FCL and CoBank leadership to drive business goals and objectives. Develops departmental strategy and implements specific plans to ensure that lease operations functions are aligned with the commitments to the organization, customer and partners. Drives efficient, scalable business processes, optimizing the use of technology, maintaining an effective control environment, and measuring performance. Provides leadership to cross-functional and enterprise-wide projects and initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or other relevant discipline.
Twelve (12) or more years of experience in financial services industry operations, preferably in equipment finance or corporate mortgage, or an appropriate combination of education and experience.
Seven (7) or more years of supervisory/management experience, with five (5) or more years managing managers.
Master’s degree, MBA and/or CPA preferred.
Proven experience managing complex multi-functional equipment finance or mortgage operations.
Comprehensive understanding of commercial lease operations and lease servicing systems.
In-depth knowledge of current and evolving operations systems, tools, techniques, trends and best practices.
Experience with technology supporting equipment finance, such as Info-Lease, LeaseWave, or other equipment finance operating platforms.
Advanced knowledge of program management concepts, project management and implementation techniques, process reengineering, and change management practices (including experience with operational excellence tools and disciplines such as Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) strongly preferred.
Knowledge of the leasing industry terminology, best practices, documentation, security interest, tax and closing requirements.
Excellent leadership, people management and organizational development skills, with the proven ability to strategically inspire, engage, motivate and guide associates through change at all levels, and to influence outcomes both within and across organizational lines.
Demonstrated track record of successful human capital development including succession planning, skills development and development plan creation, implementation and management.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively build and maintain effective working relationships and effectively influence key decisions with all levels of management and staff.
Demonstrated commitment to operational excellence tools, methodologies and practices.
Advanced customer service and relationship management skills, demonstrating leadership of successful product delivery within a team environment under demanding time lines;
Experience developing, implementing and managing vendor programs preferred.
Advanced strategic and analytical orientation. Adept at analyzing and understanding industry and market trends to identify and react to new opportunities.
Strong business acumen, with the ability to build strong business cases, gain support for recommended solutions that move the operating model forward, and draw on internal and external resources to develop and carry out business strategies and initiatives.
