Goldbelt Hawk, LLC is a small, but growing 8(a) certified Small Disadvantaged Business located in Newport News, Virginia with a satellite office in Alexandria, VA.  We provide diversified support services to Federal customers. Goldbelt Hawk has an immediate need for an Acquisition Specialist/Tech Writer for a 4-year contract in Washington, DC.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Acquisition Support (50%):

  • Support all contractual actions and phases including providing guidance, planning, requirements definition, acquisition strategy, recommendations, and document preparation.
  • Support task managers and contracting officer representatives in documentation and approval support throughout the acquisition life-cycle.
  • Tech Writer (50%):

  • Responsible for writing and/or editing technical documents, manuals and brochures that include subject matter related to cyber security. This may include reports, user manuals, briefings and presentations, cyber security policy, system specifications and/or functional descriptions, standard operating procedures and cyber security plans.

  • Develop outlines and drafts for review and approval ensuring final documents meet applicable requirements.

  • Research and gather technical and background information for inclusion in the deliverables.

  • Consult relevant sources, including technical documentation, subject matter experts and project personnel, to obtain information.

  • Promote an environment of continuous process improvement, learning and team collaboration

 Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in US Federal Government Acquisition field

  • 3+ years of experience in Technical Writing. Tech Writing and Acquisition experience may overlap

  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and writing skills

  • Public Trust Suitability under Minimum Qualifications

  • Familiar with information security and assurance principles and associated supporting technologies
