Hamilton Island is nestled among the Whitsunday Islands and located at the edge of the world famous Great Barrier Reef. With the largest conference facilities in the region catering for up to 700 delegates, and its idyllic tropical setting, it's the ultimate conference and event destination. We are seeking an experienced Chief Steward to join the daily running of the busy kitchen for our Conventions team.

About the Role:

  • Full time, live on island role
  • Daily running of a busy kitchen
  • Supervising 3-4 Kitchen Stewards
  • Maintaining 3 vehicles and all mobile equipment via the maintenance team/ program
  • Responsible for cleaning schedules
  • Responsible for staffing rosters
  • Setting up and break down of equipment
  • Maintaining and cleaning equipment

About You:

  • Previous experience as a Kitchen Steward preferably within a catering company
  • Open Driver Licence - Essential
  • Strong work ethic and leadership skills
  • Comfortable with the physically demanding nature of the role
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues
