Position Overview:

Reporting to the Service Center Supervisor, this person will provide service and equipment setup to existing and new accounts in the greater Chicago metro area.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform various repairs on commercial janitorial equipment primarily in the field however the repair may be made in-shop as well.
  • Develop both new and existing customers by promoting the maintenance program.
  • Maintain customer files and records.
  • Train customers on proper equipment use.
  • Frequent communication with customers and North American staff.
  • Provide thorough communications to the customer via the written work order.
  • Track and maintain inventory of all repairs and part orders.
  • Provide Training on equipment to end users.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Clear understanding of mechanical, electro-mechanical, servo-electric, electrical, and hydraulic control devices.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power shop tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices.
  • Experience working in direct contact with customers on service-related activities preferred.
  • Must be able to use a multimeter.
  • Timely resolution of open calls with consideration given for time-sensitive locations.
  • Must be able to work independently, determine steps needed to complete the task given and accomplish same.
  • Must have own tools, specialty tools will be furnished by the company.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record with at least 2 years of driving experience and insurable
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational school in automotive/diesel/electrical preferred.
  • Ability to lift, bend, move heavy equipment and remain on one's feet for extended periods of time.
